Hawks Drop 3-2 Overtime Decision

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - Despite goals from Bruno DaSilva (Rockland, Mass.) and Maximillian Glebocki (Wilbraham, Mass.), the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team fell to the Warriors of Merrimack College by a 3-2 score Tuesday evening.  With the loss, the Hawks fall to 4-4-2 overall and drop their third Northeast-10 Conference game of the season bringing their conference record to 1-3-1.  The Warriors improve to 5-2-2 overall and 3-2-0 within the conference.

With the score knotted at two goals apiece, Robbie Sabadoz scored the game-winning goal at 96:24 of the game.  A feed from Franklin Pena was sent through the box where Sabadoz shot the ball into the lower right quadrant of the net for the victory.

For the Hawks, DaSilva scored an unassisted goal at 23:21 after driving home a ball past Merrimack goaltender Mattias Drummond at the top of the box to tie the score at one apiece.  After falling behind 2-1 in the second half, Glebocki headed home his team-leading seventh goal of the season at 63:19 with assists credited to Cliff Parker (Cromwell, Conn.) and George Lamptey (Worcester, Mass.).

Merrimack scored the first goal of the game on the foot of Pena at 6:34 of the game.  Nicholas Lo Coco added an unassisted goal at 58:01 to open the scoring in the second half.

Hawks goaltender Eric Moriarty (Center Harbor, N.H.) faced six shots on goal and turned aside three-of-six shots, drawing the loss.  Drummond made two-of-four saves on the evening for the victory.

The Hawks return to action Saturday, Oct. 1 as they face-off against the fourth-ranked Franklin Pierce University men's soccer team at Melucci Field in a 2:00 p.m. tilt.
