Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Moriarty, Howe Lift Hawks Over Golden Knights 4-0

MANCHESTER, N.H. -
Scoring four goals, two of them on the foot of Keesen Howe (Norwich, Conn.), the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team recorded a 4-0 shutout victory over the Golden Knights of the College of Saint Rose Saturday afternoon at Melucci Field.  The Hawks have won their second straight game and possess a 4-3-2 overall record and collect their first Northeast-10 Conference victory of the season.  The Golden Knights record slips to 0-7 overall and stands at 0-4 in conference play following the loss.

The Hawks struck first within the first minute of the game as Howe knocked home a feed from George Lamptey (Worcester, Mass.) to score his second goal of the season on what proved to be the game-winning goal.

Only 2:35 into the second half, Howe struck again for his third goal of the season.  Bruno DaSilva (Rockland, Mass.) carried the ball up to the top of the box and sent a pass to his left where it was gathered by Maximillian Glebocki (Wilbraham, Mass.).  Streaking towards the left post, Glebocki crossed the puck parallel to the goal line where Howe tapped the ball home after crashing the net.

Glebocki added a tally of his own just 22 seconds later to increase the Saint Anselm lead to 3-0.  Justin Colella (Wilmington, Mass.) crossed midfield with the ball and sent a forward pass to a streaking Glebocki.  Unopposed up the left side of the field, Glebocki took several strides and and chipped it into the bottom right hand corner of the net for his sixth goal of the season.  Glebocki is now tied for second place overall in the conference (behind Southern New Hampshire University's Chris Tsonis) in goals with six to his credit.

At 76:55 of the second half, Justin Labonte (Pembroke, Mass.) converted a penalty shot opportunity for Saint Anselm, lifting the Hawks to a 4-0 lead which they would possess for the remainder of the game.

Eric Moriarty (Center Harbor, N.H.) collected his fourth win of the season, halting all four shots on goal.  Moriarty has not allowed a goal in two straight games and has held Hawks opponents scoreless in three games at Melucci Field on the season.  Including his four save performance this afternoon, Moriarty built upon his conference-leading total of 50 saves.

For the Golden Knights, Patrik Ohlsson drew the loss allowing three goals on four shots on net.  Dustin Greco relieved Ohlsson in the 75th minute and did not make a save while allowing one goal.

The Hawks return to action Tuesday, Sept. 27 as they travel to North Andover, Mass. to take on the Warriors of Merrimack College at 7:00 p.m.
