Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Hawks Blank Queens (N.Y.) 3-0

MANCHESTER, N.H. -
The Saint Anselm College men's soccer team scored three unanswered goals to lift the Hawks to a 3-0 victory over the Knights of Queens (N.Y.) College Wednesday afternoon at Melucci Field.  With the victory, the Hawks improve to 3-3-2 overall on the season while the Knights fall to 2-5 overall.  The Hawks' 0-2-1 Northeast-10 Conference record is unaffected with the non-conference tilt played this afternoon.

Bruno DaSilva (Rockland, Mass.) scored the first goal of the game at 3:36 of the first period to lift the Hawks to a 1-0 score.  With movement by the Hawks' offensive zone carrying the ball from left to right, DaSilva collected the feed from Keesen Howe (Norwich, Conn.) and fired the ball past lunging Knights goaltender Demetrios Touros for his second goal of the season.

Howe scored his first goal of the season and his first dating back to October 24, 2009 as the Hawks tallied a 2-0 lead early in the contest.  Maximillian Glebocki (Wilbraham, Mass.) and George Lamptey (Worcester, Mass.) collected assists on Howe's goal at the top of the box.

Glebocki closed out the half with his team-leading fifth goal of the season at 35:25 of the first half.  With Clifford Parker (Cromwell, Conn.) taking the throw-in on the right sideline, Zach Wheeler (Derry, N.H.) one-touched a ball near the right post across the crease to Glebocki who tucked the ball inside of the left post to round out the day's scoring.

Eric Moriarty (Center Harbor, N.H.) collected his second victory and third shutout of the season, halting all seven shots on goal that he faced.  Touros stopped five-of-eight shots on net for the Knights in a losing effort.

The Hawks return to action Saturday, Sept. 24 as they host Saint Rose in a 2:00 p.m. contest at Melucci Field.
