Hawks Edged By Dolphins, 3-2

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Despite a goal from Bruno DaSilva (Rockland, Mass.) and an own goal, the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team was defeated by the Dolphins of Le Moyne College by a 3-2 margin Saturday afternoon at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex.  With the loss, the Hawks fall to 2-3-2 overall and 0-2-1 within the Northeast-10 Conference.  The Dolphins improve to 3-2-1 overall on the season and boast a 2-0 conference record.

Michael Spadine scored his second goal of the game at 77:37 of the second half to lift the Dolphins to a 3-2 lead, one that they would not relinquish.  The game-winning goal came just 2:40 after Saint Anselm scored the go-ahead goal on the foot of Colella.

The Hawks struck twice within 2:01, as DaSilva scored his first goal of the season at 62:58 of the second half to tie the game at one apiece.  From eight yards out, DaSilva collected a feed from Maximillian Glebocki (Wilbraham, Mass.) that was hammered home for the tying goal.  Roughly two minutes later, Le Moyne recorded an own goal that put the Hawks up by a 2-1 score.

Spadine also scored the lone first half goal for Le Moyne, striking at the 5:02 mark of the contest.  Zachary McNabb, who assisted on the game-winning goal, also scored the game-tying goal at 67:39 to round out the scoring for the Dolphins.

Eric Moriarty (Center Harbor, N.H.) dropped his third contest of the season, halting four-of-seven shots on goal in the game.  Matthew Silva turned aside seven-of-nine shots on net to collect his third victory of the season.

The Hawks return to action Wednesday, Sept. 21 as they will host Queens (N.Y.) in a 4:00 p.m. tilt at Saint Anselm College.
