MANCHESTER, N.H. - A late goal by Amy Millet (Lancaster, Mass.) with 1:20 remaining in regulation forced overtime, but the Saint Anselm College women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie against the Greyhounds of Assumption College Sunday afternoon. With the tie, the Hawks overall record stands at 0-2-1 (0-1-1 NE-10) while the Greyhounds overall record is 2-2-1 (0-1-1 NE-10).
Millet's game-tying goal came at 88:40 of the second half. Following a Saint Anselm corner kick, a lengthy scrum in the goal crease produced a goal on the foot of Millet. The goal for Millet, a sophomore, was her first collegiate point.
Katie Lydon scored her first goal of the season at 50:39 of the second half, collecting a feed from Molly Kessler to place the Greyhounds on the board first.
Gabriella Primera (Kennett Square, Pa.) went the distance in net for the Hawks, turning aside six-of-seven shots on goal. Rachel Edgin made four saves on five shots on goal for Assumption.
Saint Anselm returns to action Wednesday evening, Sept. 14, as they face-off against the Warriors of Merrimack College at home in a 4:00 p.m. tilt.
