Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

#12 St. Michael's Pulls Away From Men's Lacrosse to Win, 10-5

COLCHESTER, Vt. – Freshman Tim Glynn (Suffield, Conn.) scored three goals, but the Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team fell to 12th-ranked Saint Michael's College, 10-5, Tuesday afternoon at Duffy Field.

The Hawks drop to 1-9, including 1-6 in Northeast-10 play, while the Purple Knights improve to 6-5, 5-2 NE-10.

After Pete Donnally scored his first of four goals 2:34 into the contest, freshman Andrew Messner (Wakefield, R.I.) knotted the game at one with 2:00 left in the first quarter. Saint Michael's pulled ahead 3-1 until Messner notched his second goal with 2:52 remaining before halftime to make it 3-2.

The Purple Knights rattled off three straight scores to make it 6-2 before Glynn scored a short-handed goal with 10:46 to play in the third quarter and then tallied a second even-strength goal with 2:40 on the clock to slice the deficit to two at 6-4.

From there, however, Saint Michael's would score four straight, including a pair from Donnally, to make it 10-4. Glynn would add another goal with two seconds left in the game, but it was too little and too late.

Senior goalkeeper Pat Acone (Bow, N.H.) made 10 saves, while Chris Demairo and Theo Ferguson each stopped one shot for the Purple Knights.

Saint Michael's outshot the Hawks, 43-17, including 17-5 in the third quarter.

The Hawks return to action Friday, April 22 when they travel to take on Franklin Pierce University at 4 p.m.
