SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Maximillian Glebocki (Wilbraham, Mass.) scored with 28 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over the Yellow Jackets of American International College Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Hawks improve to 6-8-2 on the season and to 3-7-1 within Northeast-10 Conference play. The Yellow Jackets fall to 5-8-3 overall and to 4-6-2 within the conference.
Glebocki scored his first goal since Sept. 27 to give Saint Anselm the victory with only 28 seconds to play in regulation time. Clifford Parker (Cromwell, Conn.) collected his second collegiate point with an assist on the game-winning goal. Glebocki also had a hand in all three goals scored in the afternoon.
George Lamptey (Worcester, Mass.) scored his first collegiate goal only 3:13 into the contest. Glebocki collected the lone assist on Lamptey's game-opening goal. Matthew McQueeney (Hooksett, N.H.) scored his second career collegiate goal off an assist from Glebocki at 74:46 of the second half.
The Yellow Jackets answered each of the first two Saint Anselm strikes with goals of their own. Ike Ekwueme scored at 48:12 of the second half off a pass from Thomas Denomme to even the score at one apiece and Conor Doyle scored another game-tying goal at 85:31 of the second half off a Darion Richeme feed.
Hawks goaltender Eric Moriarty (Center Harbor, N.H.) turned aside 10-of-12 shots on goal to collect the victory. Jason Ryan made eight saves on 11 shots on net and drew the loss.
