MANCHESTER, N.H. – Powered by three first-half goals, the Saint Anselm College women's soccer team defeated Southern New Hampshire University by a 3-2 margin Tuesday afternoon at Melucci Field. The Hawks collect their third victory of the season and improve to 3-9-2 on the season and to 3-7-2 within the Northeast-10 Conference. Kelli Duggan (South Easton, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal at 28:29 of the first half to secure what would become a 3-2 victory for Saint Anselm. On a Hawks corner kick, Jessica Ewald (Smithtown, N.Y.) delivered a ball directly into the center of the box that was driven home by Duggan in the mix for what would become the game-winning tally.
Teresa Vercollone (Pembroke, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season at 10:05 of the first half to lift the Hawks to the early 1-0 lead. Streaking up the right side of the field, Vercollone booted the ball past Penmen goaltender Samantha Whittier for the first goal of the contest for either side.
