Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Hawks Double Up Greyhounds, 2-0

MANCHESTER, N.H. -
The Saint Anselm College men's soccer team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory over the Greyhounds of Assumption College Tuesday afternoon at Melucci Field.  With the victory, the Hawks improve to 5-6-2 on the season and 3-5-1 within the Northeast-10 Conference.  The Greyhounds fall to 2-6-1 on the year with a 2-5-1 record in conference play.

Alex Germaine (Derry, N.H.) scored the first goal of the game at 67:38 of the second half.  Keesen Howe (Norwich, Conn.) broke up the right side with the ball and crossed a feed directly into the goal box where a crashing Germaine forced the ball home for his first goal of the season.

Howe added a goal of his own at 88:27 of the second half to seal the victory for the Hawks.  Maximillian Glebocki (Wilbraham, Mass.) carried the ball directly into Greyhounds goaltender Matt Wrenn and was upended by the fallen netminder.  The ball kicked away from Glebocki in the goal crease and onto the foot of Howe, who tapped the ball into the empty net for the score.

Goaltender Eric Moriarty (Center Harbor, N.H.) collected his fifth victory and sixth shutout of the season, turning aside all three shots on goal.  Wrenn halted three-of-five shots on net in the contest.

The Hawks return to action Saturday, Oct. 15 as they host conference-rival UMass Lowell in a 1:00 p.m. tilt.
