BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. - The Saint Anselm College women's soccer team fell to the Setters of Pace University by a 3-1 score Saturday afternoon at Pace Field. With the loss, the Hawks drop to 1-6-2 on the season and 1-5-2 within Northeast-10 Conference play. The Setters collect their third victory of the season, improving to 3-7-1 overall and 2-6-1 within the conference.
Amanda Mundorf scored two goals for Pace University, including the game-winning goal at 48:13 of the second half. Jillian Ferro scored at 12:53 of the first half to open the scoring for both sides and Mundorf added her first goal of the game just 44 seconds after Ferro's marker.
For the Hawks, Lindsay Johnson (Hooksett, N.H.) scored her first goal of the season, an unassisted tally, at 56:21 to conclude the scoring for both sides. The Hawks fired 13 shots in total, including seven shots on goal in the loss. Siobhan Flaherty (Braintree, Mass.) fired a team-best four shots on goal for Saint Anselm.
Gabriella Primera (Kennett Square, Pa.) turned aside two-of-five shots on goal and drew the loss. Courtany Hagen made seven saves in the game, only allowing the goal to Johnson late in the second period.
The Hawks return to action Tuesday, Oct. 4 as they will face-off against the University of Bridgeport in a 3:30 p.m. contest.
