Two Late Holley Goals Seals Win for Hawks

Manchester, N.H. – Saint Anselm earned its third straight win tonight with a 5-3 victory over Northeast-10 rival Franklin Pierce University. Kevin Fairweather (Woburn, Mass.) made a 20 save effort in the game for the Hawks. The Hawks improve to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in Northeast-10 play.

The Hawks got off to a fast start scoring two goals in the first period. Franklin Pierce scored first on a Patrick Shortt (New Haven, Conn.) goal. The Hawks got goals from Mike Richard (Derry, N.H.) on passes from Tyler Savage (Carrollton, Texas) and Paul Snell (Groton, Mass.). Ryan Butler (Arlington, Mass.) on an assist from Coleman Noonan (Norfolk, Mass.). The goal game the Hawks a 2-1 lead going into the locker room.

Snell scored the Hawks lone goal of the second on passes from Timothy King (Weymouth, Mass.) and Tucker Mullin (Andover, Mass.) Franklin Pierce added two of their own, including a shorthanded goal by Shortt, tying the game at the second intermission.

Saint Anselm clamped down in the third period, and did not allow a goal. Ryan Holley (Owings, Md.) scored from Alex Pascal (Blue Bell, Pa.) and goaltender Fairweather. Holley added another goal, a power play goal, to seal the win for the Hawks.

The Ravens fall to 3-10 overall and 2-3 in the Northeast-10 with the loss in the contest.

The Hawks will travel to Southern Maine this Friday in an ECAC East showdown. The action begins at 7:00 pm.
