Manchester, N.H. – The Saint Anselm Hawks
men's soccer team got their first result of the season this
afternoon as they played the Purple Knights of Saint
Michael's College to a 0-0 tie in double overtime. The tie
brings the Saint Anselm record to 0-5-1 overall (0-3-1,
Northeast-10) and the Saint Michael's record to 5-1-1 (2-0-1,
Northeast-10).
For the Hawks, Eric Moriarty (Center Harbor,
N.H.) came up big as he saved six shots over the course of
the game. George Lamptey (Worcester, Mass.) and
Joshua Rocco (North Reading, Mass.) had the only
two shots on target for Saint Anselm. As a team, the Hawks outshot
the Purple Knights 16-12, including six from Keesen Howe
(Norwich, Conn.).
The Hawks will next play on the road against Saint Rose on
September 25th. The game is scheduled to kick off at
4:00 pm.
