Manchester, N.H. - The Saint Anselm men's
soccer team hosted Le Moyne College this afternoon in a
Northeast-10 Conference contest. After allowing three goals in the
first half, the Hawks fell to the Dolphins by a final score of 3-0.
The loss drops the Hawks record to 0-5 overall (Northeast-10, 0-3)
and improves the Dolphins record to 2-1-2 (Northeast-10,
1-0-1).
The first half was evenly matched, as each team forced the
opposing goalkeeper to make three saves. In the 16th minute,
Michael Spadine (Owego, N.Y.) put home his third
goal of the season for the Dolphins. Less than two minutes later,
Marcus Debottis (Cicero, N.Y.) scored on a ball
that came across the face of the goal. Le Moyne tallied their third
and final goal of the match in the 24th minute when
Jesse Carr (Skaneateles, N.Y.) scored on a pass
from Spadine off of a Saint Anselm turnover in the backfield.
For the Hawks, Eric Moriarty
(Center Harbor, N.H.) turned away four Dolphin shots,
while Michael Kearney
(East Bridgewater, Mass.) put two shots on target.
The Hawks will next play against Saint Michael's College at home
on September 22nd. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
