Kang Gives Hawks Second Win in Debut

New London, Conn. (December 3) -- Robert Kang (Glen Rock, N.J.) won his first collegiate game tonight in a 5-1 victory over Connecticut College on the road. The win improves the Hawks record to 2-2 overall.

The game remained scoreless until there was just three second remaining when senior forward Jim Toomey (Billerica, Mass.) scored his first goal of the season. Assisting on the goal were Ryan Holley (Owings, Maryland) and Timothy King (Weymouth, Mass.).

Ryan Butler (Arlington, Mass) tallied his second goal of the season to open the Hawks scoring in the second period on assists from Coleman Noonan (Norfolk, Mass) and Holley. Tucker Mullin (Andover, Mass.) made a pass to freshman Alex Pascal (Blue Bell, Pa.) to give him his first collegiate goal, giving the Hawks a 3-0 lead going into the second intermission.

Saint Anselm added two more goals to its tally in the third period, as Mike Richard (Derry, N.H.) scored his first goal of the season from Paul Snell (Groton, Mass.), and Bryan Luther (Scituate, R.I.) scored on passes from Toomey and John Hennessey (Westwood, Mass.).

The Hawks return to action tomorrow at Tufts University at 4:00 pm. They will then play their final game before the December break on the 9th at New England College in a 7:00 pm matchup.
