Mullin Scores Twice in 4-3 Loss at Tufts

Medford, Mass. (December 4) -- After trailing 3-0 going into the third period, the Saint Anselm Hawks men's ice hockey team scored three goals in the third period, eventually falling 4-3 against Tufts University. Tucker Mullin (Andover, Mass.) scored two of the Hawks goals.

Dylan Cooper (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Cody Armstrong (Medfield, Mass.) scored twice in the first period to give Tufts a 2-0 lead going into the locker room.  Cooper scored a power play goal in the second period to give Tufts a 3-0 lead after two.

Mullin put the Hawks on the board after 7:27 into the third period. Coleman Noonan (Norfolk, Mass.) and Ryan Butler (Arlington, Mass.) assisted on the goal. Mullin scored his second goal four minutes later on passes from Paul Snell (Groton, Mass.) and Timothy King (Weymouth, Mass.). Tufts countered the rush made by Saint Anselm on Mike Vitale's (Brookfield, Ill.) second goal of the season. Nick Wheeler (Nashua, N.H.) scored an empty net goal to bring the Hawks within one goal with 33 seconds remaining, but the Hawks were unable to score again.

Robert Kang (Glen Rock, N.J.) took the loss in the game after making 34 saves.

The Hawks will be in action next Thursday, December 9th at New England College in a 7:00 pm. game. The game will be the Hawks last before until January 1st when they take on Canton in Lake Placid, N.Y.
