Manchester, N.H. (October 16th)- - At home this
afternoon, the Saint Anselm Hawks volleyball team played a
Northeast-10 Conference match against the Le Moyne College
Dolphins. The Hawks fell by a 3-0 final, which drops their record
to 2-12 overall and 1-8 in the conference. The win improves the
Dolphins record to 6-14 overall and 3-5 in the conference.
The first set was controlled by the Dolphins, as they jumped out
to a 3-0 start and never looked back. The Hawks never led in the
match, which was won by a 25-12 final in favor of Le Moyne.
In the second set, the Hawks had their largest lead at 14-10,
which was surrendered at 16-14. The set was also taken by Le Moyne
at 25-20. In the set for the Hawks, Charlotte Tencza
(Greenfield, Mass.) tallied six kills and a dig.
Kyla Gustavson (Nashua, N.H.) recorded two kills
and three digs.
The third set was won by the Dolphins as well by a final score
of 25-22. Tencza led the Hawks with five kills and a dig.
Rachel Flaherty (Cold Spring, N.Y.) recorded eight
assists for the Hawks in the set.
For the match, Tencza recorded 15 kills for Saint Anselm, while
Margaret Tereschuk (Mission Viejo, Cal.) tallied
16 digs and Flaherty assisted on 22 Hawk kills.
The Hawks will be in action again on Wednesday to take on
UMass.-Lowell in a Northeast-10 Conference match. The match will
begin at 7:30 pm.
