Waltham, Mass. (October 13th) - -The Saint
Anselm Hawks women's volleyball team was on the road this evening
to take on the Falcons of Bentley University. The Hawks fell to the
Falcons by a 3-0 final, dropping their record to 1-11 overall and
0-7 in the Northeast-10.
The Hawks jumped out to an 8-3 lead in the first game, which was
erased and Bentley tied the game at 18-18. The Falcons took the
lead at 25-24, which was reclaimed by the Hawks at 27-26. The game
was finally won by the Falcons at 30-28.
The second set was won by the Falcons by a score of 25-16,
followed by the third set, which ended 25-20 in favor of
Bentley.
For the Hawks in the match, Charlotte
Tencza (Greenfield, Mass.) recorded 12 kills, along
with 10 digs to lead the Hawks. Margaret
Tereschuk (Mission Viejo, Cal.) tallied 12 digs, while
Samantha
Elliott (Cumberland, R.I.) had seven kills to go along
with two solo blocks. Rachel Flaherty
(Cold Spring, N.Y.) assisted on 30 Hawk
kills.
