The Hawks began their day with a match against the Philadelphia University Rams.  The Rams, coming of a 3-1 victory over the Chargers in the morning, played well and defeated the Hawks in three straight games.  Charlotte Tencza (Greenfield, Mass.) had nine kills in the match and Stephanie Devlin (Beverly, Mass.) had six.  Rachel Flaherty (Cold Spring, N.Y.) had 20 assists in the match and just one error, for a .909 percentage.

After falling to the Rams, the Hawks looked to redeem themselves in their second game.  However, after putting up a strong fight in the first game but losing 25-22, the Hawks fell by scores of 25-17 and 25-14 in the final set games.  Tencza led both teams with 12 kills in the match, and Ashley Hopkins (Wakefield, R.I.) was second on the team with five.

The Hawks return to action tomorrow afternoon as they take on the Post University Eagles for their last non-conference match until the end of October.  The Hawks look for their second consecutive victory over the Eagles, after defeating them 3-1 in the Hawks' first match of the season.  The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.
