MANCHESTER, N.H.
- The Saint Anselm volleyball team took on the
Post University Eagles this afternoon for their second match-up
this season, this time on the road. In their final
non-conference match before the end of October, the Hawks once
again defeated the Eagles by a score of 3-1. With the win,
the Hawks improve to 4-4 (0-0, NE-10), while the Eagles fall to
2-10 (2-0, ECC).
The Hawks got off to a slow start, dropping the first game of
the match to Post by a score of 25-20. However, they quickly
bounced back and won the next three consecutive games by scores of
25-14, 27-25, and 25-23, to defeat the Eagles 3-1. Sophomore
Charlotte Tencza (Greenfield, Mass.) recorded a
season-high 20 kills in the match. Juniors Stephanie
Devlin (Beverly, Mass.) and Ashley Hopkins
(Wakefield, R.I) were next on the team with seven and six
kills, respectively. Rachel Flaherty (Cold Spring,
N.Y.) led the team with 37 assists and did not make one
error all day. Libero Kelly Rudolph (Winter Park,
Fla.) recorded a season-high 27 digs, and Tencza was
second on the team with a season-high 21 digs. The team
combined for a total of five blocks in today's competition.
The Hawks return to action on Wednesday, September
23rd when they travel across town to take on the
Southern New Hampshire University Penmen in their first
Northeast-10 Conference match of the season. Be sure to
