Orangeburg, N.Y. (March 21) -- Led by four
goals from Matt Surette (Wakefield, Mass.), the
Saint Anselm men's lacrosse team rolled to a 14-8 win over
Dominican on Saturday afternoon in non-conference play.
The Hawks built the lead to 8-3 at the half after Dominican
jumped out to a quick 3-1 lead in the early going. Saint Anselm put
together 12 unanswered goals for the 13-3 advantage. The Chargers
finished the game with four straight scores in the loss.
Surette led the Hawks with four goals, while Jeff Dunkle
(Exeter, N.H.) also had a hat trick. Matt
O'Connell (Charlestown, Mass.) had a team-best four
assists in the win. Korin Pierce led the hosts
with three goals.
Dan Flynn (Wakefield, Mass.) took the win with
11 saves, while Brendan Bonacum had 19 saves in
the loss.
Saint Anselm is now 2-2 overall on the season. The Hawks are
back in action on Wednesday afternoon, hosting Assumption for a
game beginning at 4 p.m.
