MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Anselm volleyball
team hosted the Bentley University Falcons at Stoutenburgh
Gymnasium this evening for a Northeast-10 Conference match.
The Falcons defeated the Hawks in three games, running their
all-time record to 21-0 against the Hawks.
The Hawks struggled to get going, dropping the first game of the
match 25-9. They came back fighting in the second game,
battling up to 22 points, before falling 25-22. They then
ceded the match to the Falcons with a 25-18 third game.
Sophomore Charlotte Tencza (Greenfield, Mass.)
recorded a match-high 10 kills. Junior Ashley Hopkins
(Wakefield, R.I.) and freshman Samantha Elliott
(Cumberland, R.I.) each added five kills for the
Hawks. Sophomore Rachel Flaherty (Cold Spring,
N.Y.) tacked on 18 assists, and classmate
Stephanie Mauer (South Hadley, Mass.) had two
service aces and a block assist. Falcon junior Alaura
Berry (San Diego, Calif.) led both teams with four service
aces.
The Hawks return to action on Wednesday, October 7th, when they
travel to Rindge, N.H. to take on the Franklin Pierce University
Ravens. The Northeast-10 Conference match will begin at 7:00
pm.
