Hawks Stung by Yellow Jackets, Fall in Three

MANCHESTER, N.H - The Saint Anselm volleyball team travelled to Springfield, Mass. this evening to take on the American International College Yellow Jackets in the fourth match of their five-match road trip.  The Yellow Jackets dominated the Hawks, defeating them in three games by scores of 25-13, 25-12, and 25-13, respectively.  The win lifts the Yellow Jackets to 18-9 (7-6 NE-10), while the Hawks fall to 5-15 (1-10 NE-10).

Sophomore Charlotte Tencza (Greenfield, Mass.) led the Hawks with eight kills in the match.  Classmate Rachel Flaherty (Cold Spring, N.Y.) had 13 assists and junior Stephanie Devlin (Beverly, Mass.) added three kills.

The Hawks conclude their long road trip on Sunday, November 1st, when they take on the Assumption College Greyhounds in a Northeast-10 Conference match scheduled for 1:00 pm.  The team hopes to repeat their 3-1 defeat of the Greyhounds from earlier this season on September 13th, 2009.
