MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Anselm volleyball
team hosted the Merrimack College Warriors tonight in Stoutenburgh
Gymnasium for their second match-up of the season. The
Warriors blanked the Hawks for the second time, lifting them to
17-5 (6-2 NE-10) while the Hawks fall to 5-11 (1-7 NE-10).
The scores of the three games were 25-8, 25-15, and 25-18,
respectively.
Sophomore Charlotte Tencza (Greenfield, Mass.)
led the Hawks with 10 kills and a .350 attack percentage.
Classmate Stephanie Mauer (South Hadley,
Mass.) was next on the team with five kills, and freshman
Samantha Elliott (Cumberland, R.I.) followed with
four. Sophomore Rachel Flaherty (Cold Spring,
N.Y.) led the team with 24 assists.
Merrimack junior Megan Murray (Rancho Santa Margarita,
Calif.) led the match with 11 kills, and freshman
Shaunda Forcier (Gonic, N.H) had 10 kills and no
errors in 17 attempts for a .588 attack percentage. Fellow
rookie Natalee Yeazle (Blaine, Minn.) added seven
kills in 10 attempts for a match-high .700 average.
The Hawks return to action on Wednesday, October 16th as they
travel to Albany, N.Y. to take on the Saint Rose Golden Knights in
a Northeast-10 Conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
