MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Anselm women's
soccer team traveled to Easton, Mass. this morning to take on the
Stonehill College Skyhawks in Northeast-10 Conference play.
Sophomore Hillary Sanacore (Wakefield, R.I.) and
junior Jennifer Pearl (Stoughton, Mass.) both
scored in the game, but the defense could not hold off the
advancing Skyhawks, as the Hawks fell 3-2.
Saint Anselm got on the board first, when Hillary Sanacore
converted a pass from Jennifer Pearl to score her second career
goal at 36:52 in the first half. However the Skyhawks scored
two quick goals before the end of the half to take a 2-1
lead. 15 minutes into the second half, Skyhawk Kelsey
Mahoney (Rehobeth, Mass.) netted a third goal to increase
Stonehill's lead to two. Ten minutes later, at 69:53, the
Hawks staged a comeback, as Jennifer Pearl laced a hard shot up
into the upper-right corner of the net, knocking in her
team-leading fifth goal of the season. However, the Hawks
were unable to put together any further offense, as they fell to
Stonehill, 3-2.
