Manchester, N.H. (January 17)-The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team fell to the Bantams of Trinity College 4-2 on Saturday Afternoon at Sullivan Arena. The loss drops the Hawks to 4-6-1 overall and 3-4-1 in ECAC East play, while the win improves Trinity to 10-3-0 overall and 7-2-0 in the NESCAC.

The Bantams hit the scoreboard first as Paul Jaskot (Methuen, Mass.) scored an unassisted shorthanded goal to put Trinity up 1-0. The Hawks would keep the game close with solid defense and penalty killing as senior goaltender Pat Gallagher (Framingham, Mass.) made 10 saves in the stanza and the Saint Anselm defense killed a five-on-three powerplay.

In the second period the Hawks evened the game as Coleman Noonan (Norfolk, Mass.) netted his fifth goal of the year on helpers from Paul Snell (Groton, Mass.) and Mike Nunzianto (Guilford, Conn.).

In the third period Trinity took the lead on a goal from Adam Houli (Howell, N.J.) to make it 2-1 Bantams. Trinity extended their lead tem minutes later on an unassisted powerplay goal from Ryan Crapser (Paxton, Mass.) at the 13:08 mark. The Hawks cut into the lead on a goal John Penny (Andover, Mass.) off a rebound from John Hennessey (Westwood, Mass.) and Snell. With just over a minute left in the game, head coach Ed Seney pulled Gallagher from the net for the extra attacker, but the Bantams added another goal by Houli for the 4-2 final.

Gallagher had 33 saves while giving up three goals in the losing effort, while Bantam netminder Wesley Vesprini (Lexington, Mass.) had 12 saves in the win.

The Hawks return to the ice Friday, January 23rd, as they will travel to Middlebury College for a 7 p.m. start.
