Rockville Centre, N.Y. (September
5) - The Saint Anselm women's soccer team fell to Molloy
College 1-0 Friday afternoon at Dean G. Skelos Sports Complex. The
loss drops the Hawks to 1-1-0 overall while the win gives the Lions
their first victory of the season and improves their record to
1-2-0.
The first stanza was kept scoreless by Hawk goalkeeper
Micaela Smith (Andover, Mass.) and Lion's goalie
Christina Aquilon (Queens, N.Y.) as they headed
into the half tied 0-0.
In the second period, Molloy took the lead and never
lost it when midfielder Joanna Taylor (Seaford,
N.Y.) put it past Smith for the lone goal of the game and
her first of the season in the 63rd minute.
The Hawks return to action Sunday, September 7th, at 1:00 p.m.
at Dowling. The Lions hit the field next with a home match against
Caldwell College on September 15th, at 6:00 p.m.
