Hawks Fight Riverhawks to 2-2 Tie

Lowell, Mass. (September 23)-The Saint Anselm women's soccer team battled conference rival UMass Lowell to a 2-2 tie Tuesday night at Cushing Field in Lowell, Massachusetts. The tie makes the Hawks 3-3-2 overall and 2-1-2 in NE-10 play, while the tie gives the Riverhawks a 3-2-3 record overall and a 2-1-3 record in conference play.

The first half was kept scoreless by Hawk goalkeeper Jacqueline Cooney (Braintree, Mass.) and by Riverhawk goalie Jamie Gillis (N. Billerica, Mass.).

Less than a minute later, Maddy Bissaillon (Merrimac, Mass.) received a pass from Brianne Bozzella (Wilmington, Mass.) to put the Riverhawks up 2-0.

The Hawks fought back, and in the games 65th minute Ryann Cullinan (Windham, N.H.) took a rebound off the post and put it past Gillis to put the Hawks on the scoreboard. Seven minutes later, Kathleen Kennerly (Weymouth, Mass.) put a good boot on a free kick and Michele Dickson (Manchester, N.H.) headed it to notch the game at 2.
