N.H. (September 16)- The Saint
Anselm women's volleyball team dropped their first Northeast-10
match of the 2008 campaign with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-10) loss to
Bentley. The loss drops the Hawks to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in
conference, while the victory improves the Falcons to 7-5 overall
and 1-0 in conference play.
For the Falcons, Virginia Wong
(Quincy,
Mass.) led the way with a
game-high 10 kills. Senior setter Tori Piskulick
(San Diego,
Calif.) put up 18 assists, while
Falcon libero Cassie Kraft (New
Braunfels,
Texas) had 17 digs in the
victory.
For the Hawks, Charlotte Tencza
(Greenfield,
Mass.) and Heather
Sherlock (N. Andover,
Mass.) had a team-high two kills.
Freshman setter Rachel Flaherty (Cold
Spring,
N.Y.) pitched in with nine
assists, while sophomore libero Kelly Rudolph
(Winter Park,
Fla.) had nine digs in the loss.
The Hawks return to the court Friday, September 19th, as they
will travel to conference foe Southern Connecticut for a 7 p.m.
