Mass. (September 13)- The Saint
Anselm women's Volleyball team upended Nyack College 3-1 (25-13,
22-25, 25-23, 28-26) and Assumption College 3-2 (18-25, 24-26,
29-27, 26-24, 15-10) for their first two victories of the 2008
season. The victories improves the Hawks record to 2-1 overall.
In the first match against Nyack College, Charlotte
Tencza (Greenfield,
Mass.) led the way with 17 kills.
Sophomore Kelly Rudolph (Winter
Park,
Fla.) led the Hawks with 21 digs,
while teammate Rachel Flaherty (Cold
Spring,
N.Y.) pitched in with 37 assists.
In the five-game thriller against Assumption College, Tencza
again led the team with 14 kills. Flaherty set the bar with 32
assists and Rudolph contributed with 23 digs. Hawk freshman
Stephanie Mauer (South
Hadley,
Mass.) added 7 kills and had a
team high four service aces in the victory.
The Hawks return to action as they will host Bentley College on
Tuesday, September 16th, at 7:30 p.m.
