Hamilton, N.Y. (February 16) -- Senior
Colin Fitzpatrick (Westwood, Mass.) scored with
14:47 remaining in the third period to lift the Saint Anselm men's
ice hockey team to a 3-2 road win at Hamilton on Saturday afternoon
as the Hawks run their win streak to four straight games.
Hamilton struck first at the 7:06 mark of the first period as
Chris Lorenc tallied his fifth goal of the season
and the Continentals took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
John Hennessey (Westwood, Mass.) and the Hawks
came out firing in the second period and knotted the game at 1-1
just 20 seconds into the middle stanza on a goal assisted on by
Tom Kerwin (Whitman, Mass.). Harry
Biggs and the Hamilton power play gave the hosts the lead
again at 13:23 as he scored his first goal of the season for a 2-1
advantage. The Hawks enjoyed a power play of their own though in
the waning seconds of the period and Pat Forshner (Natick,
Mass.) tied things up at 2-2 with 24 seconds left.
The game-winning score also came on the power play as
Fitzpatrick scored his eighth goal of the year, assisted by
Forshner, for the one-goal victory.
Pat Gallagher (Framingham, Mass.) improved to
5-2-0 on the season with the win as he made 29 saves. Scott
Hefferman made 29 stops as well in the loss.
With the win, the Hawks improve to 9-10-3 overall, while
Hamilton falls to 5-16-1 on the season. Saint Anselm is back in
action on Friday, February 22nd as the Hawks host Salem State
for a 7 p.m. start at Sullivan Arena.
