Waterbury, Conn. (December 9) -- At the Drubner
Center on Tuesday evening, the Saint Anselm women's
basketball team defeated Post University by a 75-50 final in
non-conference play. The win is the second straight for the Hawks.
The Hawks held a commanding 38-23 lead at halftime and for the
game, held the Eagles to just 27 percent shooting from the field.
The Hawks on the other hand shot 42 percent from the field and 58
percent from behind the three-point arc (7-for-12). Megan
Howard (St. Paul, Minn.) led the way with 21 points and
nine rebounds, followed by Katie Larkin (Goffstown,
N.H.) with 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
Courtney May (Lakeville, Mass.) had her second
straight double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, while
Jennifer Gureckis (Nashua, N.H.) finished with a
10-point, 11-rebound double-double.
With the win, the Hawks improve to 2-7 overall and remain 1-5 in
the Northeast-10, while the Eagles drop to 1-8 and maintain an 0-1
CACC record. Saint Anselm is back in action on Thursday evening as
the Hawks host Franklin Pierce University for a 5:30 p.m.
