Mass. (October 1)-The Saint
Anselm women's volleyball team dropped a conference match to the
Merrimack College Warriors 3-0 (25-11,25-15, 25-13) at Volpe Gym
Wednesday night. The loss drops the Hawks to 2-8 overall and 0-4 in
conference play, while the victory improves the Warriors to 8-7
overall and a perfect 3-0 in NE-10 play.
For the Warriors, Lisa Barr
(Alberta,
Canada) paced Merrimack with 15
kills. Ale Kuncaitis
(Canton,
MA) had four service aces and
posted a game-high 12 digs, while teammate Elyse Lorenz
(Frankfort,
Ill.) set the bar with 28 assists
in the victory.
For the Hawks, Charlotte Tencza
(Greenfield,
Mass.) had a team-high seven
kills. Freshman setter Rachel Flaherty
(Cold Spring,
N.Y.) had 14 assists, while
senior defensive specialist Samantha Regan
(Danville,
N.H.) led the Hawks with four
digs in the loss.
The Hawks return to action Saturday, October 4th, as
they will take on the Golden Knights of Saint Rose at 1 p.m. at
Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.
