Manchester, N.H. (September 5) -- The
Hawks dropped a 1-0 decision as the team traveled to crosstown
rival Southern New Hampshire for a Northeast-10 match-up on
Wednesday night at Larkin Field. The loss drops the Hawks to
1-3-1 overall, 0-2 NE-10, while the win improves the Penmen to
1-0-3 overall, 1-0-1 NE-10.
Gabe Mercier scored the game's only goal in the
78th minute. He caused a turnover 25 yards from the Hawks'
goal and fired a 15-yarder into the upper right corner of the
goal. The goal was unassisted.
Scott Johnson (Plymouth, Mass.) turned away
four shots in the tough luck loss.
The Hawks return to action heading to Assumption College (1-4-1,
0-2 NE-10) on Saturday, September 8. Game time is set
for 11:00 a.m.
