Hawks Play Merrimack to 1-1 Tie

North Andover, Mass. (September 29) -- The Saint Anselm women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with Merrimack on Saturday morning in Northeast-10 play.

The Hawks took a 1-0 lead just 3:30 into the game on a Merrimack own goal. The Hawks held that edge until early in the second half when Hillary McGarr scored at 58:03 to tie the game at 1-1.

Freshman Jacqueline Cooney (Braintree, Mass.) turned aside seven shots in the tie, while Shannon Rowan made four saves.

Saint Anselm is back in action on Wednesday, October 3rd when the Hawks host Saint Michael's for a 3:30 p.m.
