Stonehill Rallies Past Hawks by 2-1 Final

Easton, Mass. (September 25) -- Stonehill's Kelly Regan scored a pair of goals to lead the Skyhawks past Saint Anselm by a 2-1 final on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference play.

The visiting Hawks got on the board just 8:44 into the game when they scored on a Stonehill own goal to take the 1-0 lead. Regan tied the game at the 60:13 mark, scoring off a corner kick by Michele Norton. The duo connected on the eventual game winner at the 82:34 mark as Regan headed the ball past Saint Anselm goalkeeper Micaela Smith (Andover, Mass.) for the game winner.

Jacqueline Cooney (Braintree, Mass.) earned the start for the Hawks and made two saves with one goal allowed in 68:36 of play. Smith played the remaining 21:24, making three saves and allowing one goal for the loss. Alex Eckhardt turned aside three shots to pick up the win for the Skyhawks.

Saint Anselm drops to 5-6-0 overall and 3-4-0 in the Northeast-10. The team is back in action on Saturday, September 29th as the Hawks travel to Merrimack for an 11 a.m. start in North Andover, Mass.
