Hawks Fall to Philadelphia, 1-0

Philadelphia, Pa. (September 2) -- On Sunday afternoon, the Saint Anselm women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 final to Philadelphia University in non-conference action.

Rebecca Kennedy found the back of the net for her first goal of the season at the 20:37 mark when she put the Rams up 1-0 with the unassisted score. The Hawks managed five shots on goal, but were unable to get the equalizer. Sara Hall picked up the win in net for Philadelphia with five saves, while Jacqueline Cooney (Braintree, Mass.) took the loss for Saint Anselm. Micaela Smith (Andover, Mass.) took over for Cooney in the second half, with each keeper making three saves.

Saint Anselm drops to 2-2-0 overall, while Philadelphia improves to 2-2-0 overall. The Hawks are back in action on Thursday, September 6th when the team hosts the University of Bridgeport for a 4 p.m. start at Melucci Field.
