Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Hawks Tie Conn. College, 3-3

Manchester, N.H. (December 1) -- For the second straight game, Saint Anselm's men's hockey team played to a 3-3 tie. Friday night the Hawks tied Tufts, 3-3, while Saturday afternoon the Hawks tied Connecticut College, 3-3, at Sullivan Arena.

After a scoreless first period, the Hawks jumped on the board quickly into the second period. Tom Kerwin (Whitman, Mass.) scored just 46 seconds into the second period, assisted by Joe Fernald (Braintree, Mass.) and Seth Goodrich (Salisbury, Mass.). The Camels came back to tie it up on the power play later in the period, when Ryan Riffe (South Berwick, Maine) scored at the 9:20 mark, assisted by Robbie Tesar (Lake Bluff, Ill.) and Jordan Gray (Mississauga, Ontario).

Just under one minute later, the Camels took a 2-1 lead when Gray scored, assisted by Brett Moore (Medfield, Mass.). Saint Anselm then tied the game at 2-2 when Mike Foley (Medford, Mass.) scored at the 17:10 mark, assisted by John Penny (Andover, Mass.) and Colin Fitzpatrick (Westwood, Mass.).

The scored remained tied at two until 14:10 into the third period, when Moore scored for the Camels, assisted by Riffe and Tesar. The Hawks responded 1:48 later, when Fitzpatrick netted a goal, assisted by Foley and Ryan Butler (Arlington, Mass.). Neither team converted in the overtime period, leaving the score knotted at three.

The Hawks return to the ice Tuesday, hosting Assumption for a Northeast-10 match up at 7 p.m. at Sullivan Arena.
