Syracuse, N.Y. (October 20) -- The men's soccer
team fell to Le Moyne, 2-1, at Le Moyne's Thomas J. Niland
Athletic Complex on Saturday morning. The win improves Le Moyne to
13-2-2 overall, 9-2-2 Northeast-10, while the loss drops the Hawks
to 5-10-1, 3-9 in league play.
The Hawks took the lead late in the first half, when Sam
Lamptey (Worcester, Mass.) scored on a free kick just
outside the box in the 38th minute. The Dolphins responded in the
43rd minute, as Eric Macias (Silver Spring, Md.)
scored on an Angelo Reina (Frankfurt, N.Y.) pass,
sending the game into the half tied 1-1.
The Dolphins scored 13 seconds into the second half. Reina
scored after Sean Lawlor (Preston, U.K.) lobbed a
ball from midfield, and that put an end to the scoring, with Le
Moyne recording the win, 2-1.
The Hawks return to the field Wednesday, hosting Stonehill at
4:00 p.m. on Melucci Field for the team's season finale.
