Manchester, N.H. (October 24) -- The men's
soccer team defeated Stonehill, 2-0, in its season finale at
Melucci Field. The win marks the end of the season for the
Hawks, finishing 6-10-1, 4-9 Northeast-10. The loss marks the
end of Stonehill's season, finishing 5-11-2, 2-10-1 in league play.
Tim Hubbard (Marshfield, Mass.) scored the
first goal of the game at the 19:08 mark, assisted by Tyler
Waldrupe (Manchester, N.H.). Waldrupe made an
excellent 20-yard pass to the foot of Hubbard, who finished it off
by drilling the ball into the top left hand corner.
Sam Lamptey (Worcester, Mass.) was taken down
inside the penalty area at the 22:06 mark. Lamptey converted
on the penalty kick, making the score 2-0. Neither team
scored throughout the rest of the contest, leaving the final score
2-0 in favor of the Hawks.
The Hawks end their season with a 2-0 win over the Stonehill
Skyhawks.
