Riverhawks Too Much For Hawks in Loss

Lowell, Mass. (October 16) -- The volleyball team fell 3-0 (30-20, 30-16, 30-19) to UMass Lowell in a non-conference match on Tuesday evening at Lowell's Costello Athletic Center. The win improves UMass Lowell to 10-16, while the loss drops Saint Anselm to 2-16.

For UMass Lowell, Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) compiled 12 kills and four blocks while hitting .429. Allie Eide (Gresham, Ore.) added eight kills and team-highs of eight digs and 11 service points, while Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, Mass.) handed out 23 assists. Jess Provan (San Clemente, Calif.) came off the bench to chip in a career-high six service aces and 14 assists. Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, Calif.) added seven kills.

For the Hawks, Alana McNeil (Lawrence, Mass.) posted six kills, five digs, and three blocks while Kelly O'Dea (Andover, Mass.) dished out 17 assists. Heather Sherlock (North Andover, Mass.) and Samantha Regan (Danville, N.H.) led the Hawk defense with 11 digs apiece.

The Hawks return to the court Friday, October 19, hosting Southern Connecticut at 7:30 p.m. at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.
