Manchester, N.H. (October 13) -- The men's
soccer team defeated Bentley 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at
Melucci Field on Senior Day. The win improves the Hawks
to 5-8-1, 3-7 Northeast-10, while the loss drops Bentley to 5-10-1,
2-8 in league play.
After a scoreless first half, Bentley got on the board first as
Chris Lipsett (Walpole, Mass.) scored off a
Michael Delaney (Middleboro, Mass.) cross at the
56:00 mark.
The Hawks knotted the score at one when Sam Lamptey
(Worcester, Mass.) converted on a penalty kick at the
77:17 mark. The Hawks took a 2-1 lead when
D.J. Travers (Hopkinton, N.H.) headed in a
Jeff Dell'Orfano (No. Andover, Mass.) corner kick
into the right corner of the net.
The Hawks return to the field Tuesday, October 16, hosting
American International at 4:00 p.m. at Melucci Field.
