AT BOWDOIN: Skated in 15 games for the Polar Bears...Registered 17 total shot attempts and posted three blocks...Tallied an assist during his collegiate debut on Nov. 28 against Wentworth. 

AT SAINT ANSELM: 

2024-25: Appeared in 29 games for the Hawks... Tallied 2 goals and 9 assists for 11 points on the season... Finished the season with +7 on-ice rating, tied for 3rd best on the team... was second on the team in blocked shots with 24 recorded on the season... Tallied 3 multi-point games during the year, including a game with a goal and an assist against Rivier (11/12)... At the season's conclusion, Van der Veen signed a minor professional deal with the Evansville Thunderbolts of the SPHL where he tallied a goal in his first career game. 

2023-24: Appeared in 28 games for the Hawks... Recorded 5 goals and 6 assists for 11 total points on the season. 

BEFORE SAINT ANSELM: Was a member of the lacrosse and ice hockey teams at Milton Academy…Played for the Bay State Breakers Youth Hockey and Boston Bulldogs Midget Hockey club teams…Led Independent School League (ISL) in defenseman scoring and scored the most goals by a defenseman in Prep School hockey during his junior season (2019-2020)...Earned honor roll throughout high school and was a board member of Milton Academy Investment Club.

PERSONAL: Son of Tim and Sarah…Brother of Collin and Emily…Both siblings also play for collegiate ice hockey programs...Majoring in Marketing…Attracted to Saint Anselm due to the athletic and academic opportunities...Enjoys golfing and boating in their free time.
