Peyton Steinman, a 2022 graduate of Saint Anselm, joins the Hawks women's basketball program as an Assistant Coach prior to the 2022-23 campaign.
The all-time leading scorer in program history (1,781 points), Steinman concluded her senior season in 2021-22 with WBCA Division II All-America Honorable Mention honors after picking up D2CCA First Team All-Region plaudits. The NE10 Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference selection led the NE10 with 20.6 points per game, scoring a career-high 577 points in 2021-22.
That season, Steinman matched a decades-old single-game scoring record with 43 points in an overtime win over Southern New Hampshire on Feb. 8. She went for double-digit points in all but two games on the year and departed as the all-time record-holder in free throws made (487) and free throws attempted (572).
She was also a key part of her team's NCAA Division II East Region Championship title in 2019, the first in program history. Named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team, Steinman scored 21 points in her team's upset victory over Bentley in the First Round before posting 19 points versus Le Moyne in the East Region title bout. Versus the Dolphins in the clinching victory, she was 12-for-12 from the free throw line.
A repeat selection to the Northeast-10 Academic Honor Roll, Steinman graduated with a degree in Psychology.
