Corey Boilard begins his eighth year at the helm of the Saint Anselm women’s basketball team in 2024-25. Boilard was named the seventh head women's basketball coach in Saint Anselm College history on June 8, 2017 and enters his fifth season on the Hilltop in 2021-22.

The owner of a 97-76 (.561) overall record since joining the Hawks prior to the 2017-18 season, Boilard has won an impressive 181 games as a collegiate head coach between Saint Anselm and Division III Johnson & Wales (R.I.). After a 17-win campaign in his first season, the Hawks went on to post a 22-10 record in 2018-19, winning the program's first-ever East Region Championship and a berth in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.

In 2019-20, Saint Anselm earned its ninth appearance in the NCAA Division II Championship since becoming a varsity program in 1976. Posting the team's second consecutive 20-plus win campaign under Boilard, Saint Anselm made it all the way to the Northeast-10 Conference Championship for the first time in 22 years. The Hawks earned the NCAA berth with a strong 20-4 record against in-region opponents and were ranked as high as fourth nationally in NCAA Division II during the season before COVID canceled the tournament.

In the magical 2018-19 campaign, the seventh-seeded Hawks upset three-straight teams in the East Regional, downing second-seed (and nationally ranked) Bentley in the first round before handing sixth-seeded Stonehill a loss in the semifinal round. Le Moyne, who was downed by a 63-61 margin, entered the championship game as the fourth seed and was receiving votes in the national poll.

The historic 2018-19 season culminated with 22 victories and a trip to the Elite Eight in Columbus, Ohio - the 22 wins were the most by the Hawks in one season since 1994-95. His team's victory over Bentley in the NCAA East Region First Round was the squad's first over a nationally-ranked opponent since Jan. 11, 2014, a 61-55 victory against the Panthers from Adelphi University at home. The Hawks had not won a contest against a ranked opponent away from Stoutenburgh Gymnasium since Mar. 10, 1995, a 79-74 overtime win against Bentley in the NCAA Tournament.

In his first season at Saint Anselm, Boilard's team made its third-straight appearance in the NE10 Championship and finished 17-12 overall for its third consecutive winning season. After finishing third in the Northeast Division with a 13-8 mark, the Hawks fell in the quarterfinals of the NE10 Championship to Le Moyne.

Under Boilard's tutelage, several Saint Anselm student-athletes have earned Northeast-10, regional, and national honors. Shannon Ryan was a three-time First Team All-NE10 honoree (2018, 2019, 2020) and earned Player of the Year accolades in 2020. Ryan also earned Second Team All-East Region honors from the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association, the fourth such honor in program history. Following COVID, Peyton Steinman collected NE10 Player of the Year honors in 2022 in addition to First Team All-NE10. Also under Boilard, Macy Spinks and Gabby Turco earned Freshman of the Year honors in 202 and 2022, respectively.

Boilard came to Saint Anselm after building Johnson & Wales University into one of the top programs in the region over five seasons. A New Hampshire native, Boilard took over the Johnson & Wales program in 2012-13 and guided the Wildcats to an overall record of 84-52 over his five seasons, including a 43-17 mark in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). During his last three seasons, Boilard's teams went 62-22 (.738) overall and 31-7 (.816) in the GNAC and twice set program records for wins in a season. During his time at Johnson & Wales, the team made two NCAA Tournament appearances.

In 2015-16, Boilard was named the GNAC Coach of the Year after leading the Wildcats to a 24-4 record, setting the program record for wins and earning an NCAA Tournament berth after winning the GNAC Tournament. The year before, Johnson & Wales earned its first-ever bid to the national tournament with a 19-10 overall record. Boilard’s teams also excelled in the classroom, posting a team GPA of at least 3.2 in each of his five seasons.

Prior to his time in Providence, Boilard spent two seasons (2010-12) as an assistant at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), helping the Engineers reach the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) semifinals in both seasons. Among his previous stops before WPI, Boilard was an assistant coach at Plymouth State and the head coach at Bow High School.

In his playing days, Boilard was a two-year letter winner at Keene State College, where he was a member of the 1998 Little East Conference regular season championship team, as well as two teams that played in the ECAC Tournament. He graduated from Keene State with a bachelor’s of science in physical education with a specialization in health fitness and promotion.

Boilard and his wife, Cassandra, have two children, eight-year-old Carleigh and one-year-old Cadence.
