Matthew Williams was hired in the summer of 2023 to be the next Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Saint Anselm. 

Prior to Saint Anselm, Williams was the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Lake Erie College. During his three-year tenure at Lake Erie, he helped oversee the creation of the Strength & Condition Department which was established in 2020. Williams prescribed and led all physical development for the institution's 15 NCAA Division II varsity programs. He also introduced an internship program for students that focused on floor coaching development, essential theory teaching, and knowledge application.
 
Williams was a graduate assistant at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he led all training for the women's soccer, men's and women's golf, and swimming & diving teams. Additionally, he was tasked with budgeting and purchasing the nutrition facilities for each program including the track & field team. Williams also assisted closely with the track & field team's lifting sessions and the baseball program's pre-season lifting and conditioning workouts.
 
The Ohio native attended Temple University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise and Sport Science in 2019. While studying as an undergraduate, Williams interned for Temple's Olympic Sports Strength & Conditioning Department helping lead numerous teams through a wide selection of warm-up protocols and lifting sessions. He also interned for the Football Strength & Conditioning at Temple working with all positional players through a variety of warm-ups, lifts, and conditioning trainings. In May of 2021, Williams earned his Master of Business Administration at Lake Erie College.
 
Williams received his certification from the National Strength & Conditioning Association as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist. He also is certified as a World Rugby Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach.
