Jordan Softcheck

Jordan Softcheck enters his fifth season as Offensive Coordinator for the Saint Anselm College football program in 2022. He was named Recruiting Coordinator prior to the 2022 season as well.

A finalist for the American Football Coaches Association's Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2021, Softcheck guided the Hawks offense, the No. 9-ranked unit in NCAA Division II, to an average of 314.7 passing yards per game. Furthermore, Saint Anselm was ranked second in the Northeast-10 Conference in total offense (380.9).

In 2021, Softcheck mentored the league's Rookie of the Year in Drew Willoughby, a First Team wide receiver in Anthony Brown, and an All-Rookie Team pick. Since joining the Hawks in 2018, his offensive units hold two of the top five single-season records in team history for total offense (377.5, 2019; 380.9, 2021).

In 2019, the Hawks recorded their first three-game winning streak in five seasons and had a single-season record 12 student-athletes earn Northeast-10 All-Conference honors. The offense threw for over 3,200 yards in 2019, averaging just shy of 300 passing yards per game. Saint Anselm scored over 300 points for just the third time in team history.

The Hawks played an arduous schedule in 2019, including three non-conference games - all Hawks opponents combined to win 52 games, the strongest win total of any NE10 program's opponents.

Softcheck came to the Hilltop off of a two-year stint at Brown University where he was most recently in charge of recruiting and coaching wide receivers. Before his stint with the Bears, he coached the wide receivers at the University of Dayton from 2012-15, helping the Flyers to a 31-14 record over that span.

"We are excited to add Jordan to our Hawks football family," said Head Coach Joe Adam. "He brings a wealth of knowledge from the different coaching stops he has had in his career. His positivity and energy will bring an added dimension to our offense. His background in recruiting high-academic and high-character student-athletes will be a great benefit to not only our team, but the institution."

During his time at Brown, Softcheck coached two All-Ivy League selections, including 2017 selection Jakob Prall who ranked sixth in the league in reception yards. In 2016, the Bears' Alex Jette ranked ninth in the Ivy League in all-purpose yards and finished his career as a four-time First Team All-Ivy selection.

At Dayton, Softcheck coordinated the passing game and coached standout Ross Smith, who finished his Flyers career ranked third all-time in career receptions (118) and fifth in single-season catches (57, 2014). The Flyers qualified for the NCAA Division I FCS postseason in 2015, taking on Western Illinois in the First Round.

A 2009 graduate of NCAA Division II Wingate University, Softcheck was an Assistant Coach for the Bulldogs' football program. He served as the wide receivers coach and assisted the recruiting efforts for the team while coaching multiple all-conference wide receivers and one All-America honoree.

As an undergraduate at Wingate, Softcheck was a three-year letter winner and served as a team captain. He was a member of the team and class that tied the Wingate career and single season record for victories. Softcheck also earned a Masters of Arts in Education (Sport Administration) from Wingate in 2011.

He and his wife, Jessica, have a daughter, Bradley, and a son, Jaxon.
