Biography
Coach Dickson on Nielsen: "John is one of the best long distance shooters that we have ever recruited and combines that skill with a very good understanding of how to play the game. He has very good footwork, a dangerous shot fake game and is a good pass playmaker off his dribble. John has obviously worked very hard on both his game and his body and will provide us with quality depth at the guard spot immediately."
2012-2013: Appeared in all 29 games for the Hawks as a junior...Posted 197 points while averaging 16. 8 minutes per game...Tallied 49 rebounds and shot .406 from field goal range...Set a season-high 18 point game against Le Moyne on Jan. 26.
2011-2012: Played in all 26 games as a sophomore, including five starts...Averaged 13.5 minutes per game and 5.0 points per game...Recorded 43 rebounds, 13 assists, and nine steals...Totaled 131 points, including a 19 point game against UMass. Lowell on Feb. 14.
