Ricky Constant joined the Saint Anselm College baseball program in September 2019 as the squad’s Assistant Coach. He enters his second season with the squad in 2021.
With Constant's assistance, Saint Anselm posted its best start in 28 seasons after opening the campaign with a 4-0 record. The Hawks found themselves in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region Poll, ranking 10th in the region.
Through the team's 4-0 start, the Hawks outscored their opposition by a combined 34-to-11 margin. Saint Anselm finished its year on a two-game winning streak, defeating Northern State by a 10-2 margin on Friday, Mar. 6 before posting a 6-1 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, Mar. 7.
Constant came to the Hilltop from UMass Lowell where he was a four-year member of the River Hawks’ NCAA Division I baseball program. He graduated Cum Laude from the institution in May 2019 with a degree in Criminal Justice.
As a member of the River Hawks baseball program, Constant helped the team post four consecutive 20-win seasons as a member of the pitching staff. He graduates among the top-10 leaders in appearances since the team joined NCAA Division I in 2014. On the hill, Constant registered 72 strikeouts in 81 innings pitched, including 33 as a freshman in 2016.
He has also served as a coach at the Ken Harring Baseball Camp, working under the tutelage of the former Saint Anselm baseball coach.
