MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College Department of Athletics announced the winners of the 2025-26 year-end awards on Wednesday afternoon, with eight award winners being honored.
Athletic Training Perseverance Award
The Perseverance Award, chosen by the Sports Medicine staff, is an award given to a student-athlete who has battled to overcome severe adversity, including injuries from prior seasons, to return to competition and help their team.
Female Winner: Margaret O'Connor (Women's Lacrosse)
Female Finalists: Brooklyn Schneiderhan (Women's Ice Hockey), Kayli Porter (Women's Soccer)
Male Winner: Colby Goodchild (Men's Lacrosse)
Male Finalists: Jack Devine (Men's Ice Hockey), Vincent Ciulla (Football)
Charles J. Quinn Sportsmanship Award
Saint Anselm College Athletics acknowledges the contributions of student-athletes throughout the year. One of the most significant contributions recognized by the department is in the area of sportsmanship. In keeping with the Saint Anselm College athletics philosophy and that of the NCAA, we value and emphasize the importance of good sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The Charles J. Quinn Sportsmanship Award holds significant prominence and is therefore included as one of the major Department of Athletics awards each year. The award recognizes those student-athletes who have demonstrated the qualities we value in these areas:
- Sportsmanship
- Benedictine tradition of informed leadership and ethical citizenship
- Integrity
- Honesty
- Selflessness
- "Team before self" philosophy
- Advocate for respect and understanding
Female Winner: Maggie Burchill (Field Hockey)
Female Finalists: Elise MacNair (Women's Basketball), Camila Heredia Osante (Women's Tennis)
Male Winner: Ben Rose (Baseball)
Male Finalists: Nicholas Caro (Football), Stephen Quinn (Men's Track & Field)
Senior Scholar-Athlete Award
The Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year candidates are identified from pre-determined academic criteria; hence they do not require a nomination by the coaches. Academic performance is obviously the main component for this award, but athletic accomplishments play an important role. This award is significant because it represents a commitment to excellence in the classroom and on the playing field. We all understand the commitment necessary to be a successful scholar and dedicated student-athlete here at Saint Anselm. Criteria for nomination includes:
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3
- Significant academic credentials
- Evidence of a solid athletic career
- Community service component
Female Winner: Rebecca Cady (Women's Track & Field)
Female Finalists: Julie Börschig (Women's Tennis), Kate Collins (Women's Lacrosse)
Male Winner: Luke Linart (Men's Ice Hockey)
Male Finalists: Colby Goodchild (Men's Lacrosse), Tyler Sears (Baseball)
Hawks Soar Higher Student-Athlete of the Year
The "Hawks Soar Higher" Athlete of the Year awards are presented each year to the most outstanding male and female athletes at Saint Anselm College. It is important that the names put forward are nominees who are deserving of these awards. To do that, it is critical that head coaches review their teams and determine if they have an athlete deserving of this nomination and award. Criteria for nomination includes:
- Stellar athletic achievements
- Solid academic performance
- Solid emphasis on sportsmanship and ethical behavior
- Community service participation
Female Winner: Rose Reitmeyer (Softball)
Female Finalists: Tatum Forbes (Women's Basketball), Brooklyn Schneiderhan (Women's Ice Hockey)
Male Winner: Logan Montgomery (Men's Track & Field)
Male Finalists: Josh Morissette (Men's Basketball), George Slauson (Baseball)
