How It Happened
Franklin Pierce opened the scoring early in the first period with a power play tally at the 3:50 mark from Bo Dean, assisted by Hailey Anderson, to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
The Hawks generated strong offensive pressure in the middle frame, firing 17 shots on goal, but Franklin Pierce netminder Jill Hertl, the eventual Most Outstanding Player of the NEWHA Tournament, turned away each opportunity to keep Saint Anselm off the board through 40 minutes of play.
Saint Anselm continued to press in the final period, but the Ravens added an insurance goal with 2:48 remaining in regulation as Abigail Broz scored on a feed from Maggie Korneta to seal the 2-0 victory and an automatic berth to the National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Championship.
All-Tournament Team
Schneiderhan was named to the All-Tournament Team alongside classmate and fellow captain Cora Webber.
